Principal's Message

Aloha Parents, Guardians, and Friends of Radford High School,

My name is James Sunday, principal of Radford High School since 2013. It is an honor and privilege to work with our students, staff, parents, and community to lead our school towards excellence in student achievement and personal growth.
Having grown up in this community as a military dependent, I, myself, am a proud Radford graduate. For the past 25 years I have been actively involved in the Radford Complex as an educator and administrator. Other than three years serving as principal at Pearl Harbor Elementary School, the remaining 22 years have been here at Radford as a teacher, counselor, athletic coach, vice principal, and now, principal.

As principal of Radford High School, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to ensure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increased academic expectations for all students, and engaging the community, it is our goal at Radford High School that all graduates will be college, career, and 21st century ready. I look forward to working alongside all of you for the success of your children, our students. If I can be of assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

James L. Sunday
